Dr. Kasra Tajik and our staff strive to achieve the highest levels of oral health for our patients by providing the safest, most effective dental treatments and procedures. In addition to our patients’ health, we also feel it is our obligation to be conscious about the health of the Earth and the environment. For this reason, we utilize a variety of “green” dentistry techniques designed to diminish potential risks to your health while also reducing the amount of harmful waste that enters the environment.
In an effort to make a difference, we have equipped our office with state-of-the-art technologies and computer software that will gradually help us reduce our paper usage until we can become a completely paperless practice. Additionally, we have added digital technology systems and renewable energy sources to enable us to be more energy efficient and limit our carbon footprint.
Listed below are some of the green ways in which our practice enhances your dental experience while also helping the environment.
- Mercury-Free Procedures – Every oral treatment and procedure at our practice, including dental fillings, is mercury-free. Our tooth-colored fillings are now made of composite material which eliminates the risk of harmful contact with mercury and the need for the disposal of hazardous waste.
- Digital X-Rays – Our digital x-rays require only a fraction of the radiation used during traditional film x-rays. This not only limits your exposure to harmful radiation, but it also eliminates contact with and disposal of chemicals needed to develop traditional x-rays that can be harmful to the environment.
- Energy Efficient Lighting and Products – Our office is equipped with energy efficient lighting and technologies to help reduce the amount of energy and materials we consume without sacrificing quality.
- Paper Reduction – We keep all files and records stored on secure computer software systems. This enables us to dramatically decrease our paper waste while ensuring your medical history remains organized and confidential.
